Faith, Family and Finance

The new year is only one hour old and I am sitting up with a hacking cough.

Nice.

Sometime during the night, my little one climbed into my bed and he is snoring softly.  Trying to stifle a cough so as not to wake a sleeping child -- not easy.

My perfume of the night is Vick's Vapor Rub and my drink of choice will be hot green tea.

Yep.  Happy New Year!

Really, I am not complaining, although it might sound like it.

Sitting up like this is giving me cause to think about what shaped me to go into 2012 with a positive mindset.  What changes did I make last year that will see me into the new year?

Uh oh, Little J is beginning to cough, so I may have to cut this one short.

When I boiled it all down, the three areas of my life that needed changing were:

spiritual (faith)

finding balance (family)

money (finance)

So, I developed what I call my "Trifecta for Success."

I invested my time in these three tools and in the process, developed strategies that I believe will allow me the spiritual, financial and lifestyle freedom I need.

It was difficult on some levels.  I tried to make excuses (oh, I don't have time to do this, was a common excuse!)

You know that space between your refrigerator and the wall?  The space you usually don't clean because it's too hard to get to so you just forget about it?  You clean it when it becomes absolutely necessary.

I didn't want my life to be that neglected space.  And change is good, right?

So, here are the three tools:

The Bible in 90 Days

Money Saving Mom's Budget Book

Mary Jo Tate's course "How Do You Do It All?"

I will be blogging about each one over the next week so stay tuned!

Happy New Year!
